What Trading Taught Me About Product Strategy
This one surprises people:
I day trade. Stocks, crypto, the whole thing.
But it’s not about being flashy. It’s about discipline, instinct, and knowing when to sit still—even when everything’s moving around you.
Trading taught me:
Pattern recognition matters.
You’ve gotta stay calm when things get volatile.
And you never bet big on something you haven’t studied.
Sound familiar? That’s product strategy.
When you're building something new, especially in tech, you’re basically making decisions under pressure every day—with limited data and a lot on the line.
I like to say: Trading sharpened my gut. Product work gave it purpose.
And when you’ve sat through enough market dips at 5 a.m. in fuzzy socks and a hoodie—you learn how to trust yourself.
(And also how not to check the trading account before coffee. Ever.)
